Movie: Braindead

Hey Everyone!  First of all, sorry it's been a while since my last post, I got a bit sidetracked.  I've decided that I'm going to update this blog every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I might post other updates as well, but I'm going to commit to updating at least 3 times every week.

So I just finished watching this awesome movie and I just had to share it with you all!  Years before gaining acclaim for the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, director Peter Jackson was a less well knows director of b-grade horror films in New Zealand.  He made two comedy horrors, Bad Taste and Braindead. I'd seen Bad Taste years ago, but had never heard of Braindead, or Dead Alive as it was called in the states until today.  IMO this movie is better than Bad Taste by far, it's still crappy b-grade horror but I found mysself laughing at it a hell of a lot more than at Bad Taste.  Don't get me wrong, Bad Taste is awesome, but I just want to say that Braindead was, like, 10 times more awesome!

I really recommend you to watch this movie if you like a good comedy horror and don't mind a bit (or a lot) of b-grade gore.  Check out these clips to see what I mean.  I'll have a funny pics post coming shortly!

Kid Conductor

I'm usually pretty impatient when it comes to "cute" funny videos, but I just couldn't stop laughing at this. He actually does a pretty good job at conducting with the music! I also love the real serious look on his face at 1:51...and then he starts wiping his nose on his sleeve for like, 30 seconds, while still conducting! Awesome!

GI Joe

Some of you may have seen these videos before, it's an old meme.  I first saw these like 5 years ago or something so they've been around for a while.  But I rediscovered them today when I stumbled on one of them and watched all the rest.  They are re-made GI Joe PSAs from the old tv show.  Heres my 4 favorites.  Check out the rest here.

So I was replying to a comment on a previous post and I used a line from this track, which I hadn't heard in a while, which prompted me to listen to it again on youtube.  Its by an aussie group called 2-up and is basically about little wiggas hanging out at the local shops and actin' hard.  Pretty funny.

 

And then to fatten the post out a bit, not really humour related but whatever, I have some more nice Aussie hip hop.

CNNNN

So I was just watching some TV and a program that I haven't seen in years came on and I've been laughing for the last hour.  Its an Australian comedy show called CNNNN which was produced in the early 2000s and is a news parody show.  The makers of the show went on to create another show called the Chaser's War on Everything.

Just a quick post because I wanted to share some of these vids with you.  These are clips from both CNNNN and the Chaser's War on Everything.  If your interested I think there is a torrent floating around somewhere out there with the first 6 episodes of CNNNN, but it may be pretty hard to find.  The War should be easier to find.

CNNNN Is an Australian shows but they often have segments where they ask American's questions and film their responses.

This is another such segment.

This is probably one of their most famous stunts, sneaking a man dressed as Osama Bin Laden into the APEC conference in Sydney when the entire city was pretty much locked down because George W. Bush was there.

A segment called Open Mic in which one of the team finds Public Address System microphones in shops etc. and makes comical announcements.

And lastly, the Chaser guys reviewing "The Secret" self help system.
